Cancellations & refunds
Your money goes to the bar, never to us — so refunds are the bar's to give. Here is how to get one, and what to do if the bar will not.
Draft — not yet reviewed by counsel
These terms are written and in force for the private preview, but a lawyer has not reviewed them yet. If anything here conflicts with what a bar tells you, ask us before you pay anyone.
The short version
Tables n Tabs never receives your payment. It goes straight to the bar, on the bar’s own payment page. That means we cannot refund you, because we have nothing of yours to refund. Refunds are the bar’s decision, on the bar’s terms.
We know that is not the answer anyone wants. It is the honest one, and we would rather you read it here than discover it after you have paid.
Before you have paid
Nothing is charged when you submit a request. Until the bar approves it and you choose to pay, you owe nothing and can simply walk away — book somewhere else, or do nothing at all. A request nobody answers expires on its own.
This is the moment when cancelling costs you nothing. If you are unsure, this is the point to stop.
After you have paid the bar
Contact the bar directly and as early as you can. Their cancellation terms are theirs, and they vary: some will refund in full with enough notice, some will move you to another night, some offer credit behind the bar instead of money back, and some will not refund at all close to the date. A bar that has turned away other groups for your Friday is making a real decision when it says no.
Your booking page has the bar’s details on it. Tell them your booking code — it is the fastest way for them to find you.
If the bar agrees to a refund, it comes back the way it went out, through their payment provider, on that provider’s timescale. We are not in that loop and cannot speed it up.
If the bar cancels on you
If a bar cancels a booking you have already paid for, they are responsible for returning your money. Tell us as well. We cannot issue the refund, but we can chase them, and a bar that does not make its customers whole is one we do not want listed. That is a decision we can make, and we will.
If you are refused at the door
Everyone drinking has to be 21 or over and has to show identification the bar accepts. If you or your guests cannot, the bar can refuse service, and it must — it is their licence. Being refused for that reason is not usually refundable, by them or by us. Check that everyone in your group can produce real ID before you pay.
What we will actually do
We will tell you exactly what we know, put you in touch with the right person at the bar, and say so plainly when a bar has behaved badly. What we will not do is pretend we can move money we never had.
If a bar repeatedly refuses to honour its own terms, tell us. We remove bars from Tables n Tabs for that.
